The Sunderland Public Library and New England Health Center have partnered to offer a “Memory Café” on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Sunderland Public Library. A Memory Café is a social gathering for people with memory loss, their friends, families, and caretakers, and helps people create new connections, find support, and take a moment to relax.
Participants will be offered light refreshments, enjoy acoustic guitar music, and create crafts. “Information about supporting those with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other forms of memory loss will be available, but the main goal of this event is to give people a comfortable and relaxing environment in which they can take a break from the day-to-day stresses of memory loss,” explains Katherine Hand, director of the Sunderland Public Library. 665-2642.
